Privacy Policy

Effective August 20, 2026

Safha is developed by TechnoEdge. This Privacy Policy explains how Safha accesses, processes, stores, and protects information.

Information processed by Safha

Safha allows users to photograph and organize handwritten diary pages. The app may process:

  • Photographs of diary pages
  • Text extracted from those photographs
  • Generated descriptions and tags
  • Diary names, entries, and related app settings

This content is processed and stored locally on the user's device. Safha does not upload diary photographs, extracted text, descriptions, or tags to the developer's servers.

Permissions

Safha may request:

  • Camera access: Used to photograph and scan diary pages.
  • Storage or media access: Used to save, import, export, or restore diary content where supported.
  • Notification permission: Used to display OCR-model download progress and status.
  • Background processing: Used to allow a user-initiated OCR-model download to continue when Safha is not visible.

These permissions are used only to provide the app's stated functionality.

On-device processing

Optical character recognition, descriptions, and tags are generated on the user's device using locally installed machine-learning components.

Safha uses Google ML Kit for document scanning. Google states that images and resulting outputs are processed on-device and are not sent to Google servers. However, ML Kit may collect limited app, device, performance, utilization, and diagnostic information. More information is available in Google ML Kit's privacy documentation.

OCR model download

Safha downloads its OCR model from an external model-hosting service when the user explicitly requests it from Settings. This network request may expose standard connection information, such as the user's IP address and device network information, to the hosting provider. Diary photographs and diary text are not included in this request.

Data sharing

The developer does not sell, rent, or share users' diary content with advertisers or other third parties.

Limited technical information may be processed by platform services and software components, including Google Play services and Google ML Kit, for functionality, diagnostics, security, and performance measurement.

Data storage and security

Diary content is stored locally within the user's device storage. Users are responsible for securing their device and any backup files they export.

Safha uses secure network connections when downloading required application components. No method of storage or electronic transmission can be guaranteed to be completely secure.

Data retention and deletion

Safha retains diary content on the user's device until the user deletes it, clears the app's data, or uninstalls the app.

Users can delete individual content from within Safha. Uninstalling Safha or clearing its application data removes locally stored content, subject to device backups or copies previously exported by the user.

The developer does not maintain a server-side account or database containing users' diary content and therefore cannot remotely recover or delete locally stored diaries.

Children's privacy

Safha is not specifically directed toward children under 13. The developer does not knowingly collect personal information from children through developer-operated servers.

Changes to this policy

This Privacy Policy may be updated when Safha's functionality or legal requirements change. Updates will be posted at the same public URL with a revised effective date.
